A couple of the exercises popular for targeting these areas are as follows:<span id="more-163"></span></p>
<p>Lunges</p>
<p>1.) Stand in an athletic position (knees bent a little) with feet directly under the shoulders, or shoulder width</p>
<p>2.) If preferred, grab a small weight or weighted object if not in possession of dumbbell weights</p>
<p>3.) Take a step forward with one foot</p>
<p>4.) Let the whole body lower to the ground in a controlled fashion, bending both knees so that the leg staying put gets its knee nearly to the point of touching the ground. Neither knee should bend more than 90 degrees during the exercise, and should not lock in the lunged position</p>
<p>5.) Slowly return to a standing position, still being careful not to lock the knees</p>
<p>6.) Repeat with the other leg, followed by another 10 repetitions while alternating legs</p>
<p>Bridge</p>
<p>1.) Lie flat on the back, with knees slightly bent and feet parted equally with the hips</p>
<p>2.) Raise the spine off of the floor, starting with the lower portion, until the body has created a diagonal line upward from the shoulders (which should remain on the floor) to the knees</p>
<p>3.) Squeeze the bum at the peak of this pelvic tilt, and hold for 10-15 seconds</p>
<p>4.) Slowly lower the body to its original position</p>
<p>5.) Repeat 10 times or until fatigue, being sure not to overexert the muscles of the spine</p>
<p>These 2 exercises will for sure assist you in losing weight from the bum and thighs.</p>

<p>“Obesity is one of the biggest health challenges we face. The Government is committed to taking action to reverse the rising tide of obesity. Almost 1 in 4 adults in England are currently obese, and if we carry on as we are by 2050, 9 in 10 adults will be overweight or obese. The cost of overweight and obese individuals to the NHS is estimated to be £4.2 billion and is forecasted to more than double by 2050. The cost to the wider economy is £16 billion, and this is predicted to rise to £50 billion per year by 2050 if left unchecked. “</p>

<p>We do not realise the dangers and when i read this it actually frightened me, 9 in 10 adults will be overweight by 2050.</p>
<p>I believe that one of the major causes of this obesity is the advertising industry, constantly promoting fast food together with the fast lifestyle that the current population leads.</p>
<p>One of the major reasons are that women are no longer stay at home moms being house wives and looking after their children. Many mothers need to work to help maintain the high costs of living today. This leaves no time for healthy home made meals, as I remember grandmother used to make.</p>
<p>People do not have time to cook healthy foods anymore. After a hard day at work the easiest thing is to pick up a pizza, or a big mac and fries for the family.</p>
<p>This is creating major problems for the future of our health and for our families health.</p>
